On Friday 23 September, Olympic Gold medallist Victoria Pendleton returned to her school, Etonbury Academy, to officially open the new £2.5million Pendleton Sports Centre.
The state-of-the-art centre is managed by SLL in partnership with BEMAT and offers a wide range of quality and value for money indoor and outdoor facilities, including four indoor courts, changing rooms and fitness suite, floodlit 3G pitch and imminently a workout studio. There are already nearly 400 members and classes will soon be starting at the centre.
Victoria Pendleton, CBE, said: “Victoria Pendleton CBE, said: “It was an honour being back at my old school to open the new Pendleton Sports Centre and 3G pitch. It’s still a bit surreal seeing my name on the sign! The facilities here are truly first class and will enable the students/community across all ages and of all abilities to play sport every single day, as part of an active lifestyle.”Back to News
